Job Description 
Creation Kids Village (CKV) an early education center, is seeking a qualified Assistant Early Education Teachers to serve toddlers through four-year-olds in full time positions, Monday through Friday.  
 
Job Responsibilities
Reporting to the Lead Teacher, Assistant Teachers are responsible for daily functions and supervision of the classroom. Responsibilities include:
  • Plans with the Lead Teacher and implements the approved lesson plans and daily classroom schedule using the CKV’s curriculum outlines and materials.
  • Provides an attractive, well-kept classroom that encourages creativity, exploration and decision-making by the children.
  • Provides the children with verbal praises and acceptance while providing clear and consistent expectations for the children's behavior.
  • Accepts responsibility for maintenance and necessary housekeeping duties of the classroom, common use areas, kitchen, and playgrounds.
  • Assesses each child's developmental needs on an ongoing basis.
  • Assists in other capacities as determined by the Director.
  • Attends all required staff meetings, workshops and/or school functions.
  • Observes all rules and regulations of CKV and the local, state or national regulatory agencies pertaining to the health, safety and care of children.
  • Communicates with parents in a positive and appropriate manner.
  • Represents the staff, center and company with positive attitude while teaching, mentoring or representing the company.
  • Provides clear, accurate and grammatically correct correspondence with parents, staff, and external customers.
  • Acts as a positive role model and displays leadership qualities when mentoring or teaching staff.
  • Attends all mandatory training sessions relevant to classroom of responsibility offered by the company and communicates information to subordinates.
  • Practices appropriate discipline techniques as established by the company and state licensing.
 
Required Qualifications & Requirements
  • Education qualifications
    • High School diploma or GED
    • DCF 40 hours or the minimum requirement reflective of the Florida State Mandated Training. If the candidate does not already have the DCF training the State Mandated training must be initiated within 90 days of new hire to the industry and completed within one year of hire. 
  • Experiential requirement: One year experience with young children in a similar setting
  • Age requirement: Minimum age of 21
  • Additional requirements
    • Infant and Child CPR and First Aid (required for ½ of all personnel)
    • Training in Early Literacy (.5 CEUs or one 3 credit college class)
    • Ability to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
    • Ability to walk, squat/kneel, sit on floor, see, hear, speak with children to ensure children’s health and safety.

  • Understanding of CREATION Health and the Healthy 100 lifestyle
  • Understanding of Reggio Emilia 
  • Undergraduate degree in Education, Curriculum, Child Development, or Child Psychology
  • High level of technology proficiency specifically in Microsoft Office and ProCare 
  • Food Service for Early Education
